This is very easy with the PyroProducts wood splitter! With the included splitting hammer you can safely split blocks without using an axe. It is suitable for small to medium sized blocks.
In general it can be said that wet wood is easier to split than dry wood. Wet wood has not yet had the chance to dry out completely, which makes the fibers even more flexible and the wood is therefore easier to split.
It is recommended to allow wood to dry for at least six months to a year after splitting, depending on factors such as wood type, thickness of the pieces and environmental conditions. The wood should be stacked in a well-ventilated area outdoors, checked regularly for moisture and only used for fuel when it has reached a moisture content of approximately 15-20%.
By splitting the wood into small blocks, your wood will dry much faster.
